" My son Martin started
to train with Jonathan Little (5th Dan Chief Instructor) in 1992
when he was 6 years old and my daughters followed on as soon as
they were old enough. My children have been training regularly for
the past 12 years. I now have 4 children enrolled in the Kentai
club, Martin (17) 1st Kyu brown belt, Stacey (16) 1st Dan black
belt, Amanda (10) 3rd Kyu brown belt, Kelly (8) 5th Kyu blue belt.
I have another daughter of 5 years old who cannot wait to start
training and a baby daughter of 10 month who will probably follow
her sisters and brother.
It is a sport they really enjoy doing and look forward to training.
Karate has given them a lot of attributes including discipline,
respect, self defence, fitness and masses of confidence.
After sitting on the sidelines for 11 years I decided to give it
a go myself, and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner. Kentai
gives good value for money and great deals for families. Members
can also attend the special training days and summer courses held
by the club. Jonathan also encourages members to attend competitions
for both adults and children for kata (a pre-arranged sequence of
moves) and kumite (competition sparring) and numerous trophies have
been won for the club".
